If you can wrap your head round the concept of hollowing out the sea, as it seems the Jonathan Francis (aka Hollowed Out the Sea) has, his rather odd little double A-sider may be just your thing. The “City Surf/Space Money” single is filled with electronic interpretations of garage band experimentalism with a hint of the orient. Which isn’t a sentence I was expecting to type when I got up this morning.

Exactly what space money is or how you would surf in the city, no one can be sure. Nevertheless, these two songs remain oddly charming, hinting at the experimentalism of Gorillaz and Lemon Jelly - and then some.
